Two die as train hits truck in Gazipur

At least two persons were killed and two others injured when a train rammed into a truck in Gazipur. The accident took place at 4.00am on Sunday at Dhirasram Station. The dead were identified as truck driver and his assistant. Police could not provide their names. A sand-laden truck broke down after it got up on the rail track. The truck then collapsed after a Dhaka-bound intercity Maitree Express train from Kolkata crashed into it. — bdnews24.com

BSF kills B'deshi on Burimari border

LALMONIRHAT, July 07: A Bangladeshi national was shot dead by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on Burimari border in Patgram upazila in the district on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Arshadul Haque, 30, son of Ehsanul Haque of Islampur village of the upazila. Commanding officer of Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) Rangpur-61 battalion Lieutenant Colonel Shariful Islam said when Arshadul went to 840/3 Sub pillar of the border to bring cattle a patrol team of BSF fired gunshot on him, leaving him dead. — UNB
