ACC arrests land minister's PS in graft case

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) arrested Kutubuddin Ahmed, personal secretary of the land minister, in a graft case involving land in the city's Gulshan area. He was arrested from the Segun Bagicha area on Sunday, ACC Deputy Director Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said. On Sunday the ACC filed the case against Kutubuddin for grabbing 10 kathas (7,220 sq ft) of land at Gulshan, he said. Kutubuddin was arrested in connection with the case, Pranab added.— bdnews24.com

Agrabad banks to remain open round the clock

Bangladesh Bank (BB) asked on Sunday the scheduled banks to take necessary steps for keeping open the branches in the Chattogram Agrabad area round the clock every day. The branches, related with the Chattogram port or customs, will remain open round the clock every day by, said a BB circular on Sunday. Banks will take necessary steps in this regard by discussing the matter with the Chattogram port or customs authorities, the circular added. — BSS
