Passenger held with 96 gold bars at Ctg airport

CHATTOGRAM, Apr 09 (UNB): The customs intelligence arrested a passenger with 96 gold bars from Shah Amanat International Airport on Tuesday morning. "The gold bars were detected in the luggage of one Deedarul Alam during scanning around 11:30am," said Kazi Khairul Kabir, manager (acting) of the airport. Lightning strike in Sylhet kills three

SYLHET, Apr 09: A lightning strike killed three farmers at Dhupri Haor in Fenchuganj upazila on Tuesday. The deceased are - Jitu Mia, son of Tajmul Ali of Fenchuganj upazila; Rajon Mia, son of Moikandar Ali, and Anwar Hossain of Gopalganj upazila. The lightning struck around 11am when the farmers were working at a field, killing them on the spot, said Abul Bashar Mohammad Badruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Fenchuganj Police
