Moon sighting committee meets today

The National Moon Sighting Committee will hold a meeting today (Monday) to review the news of sighting the moon of the holy Muharram, 1440 Hijri, and fix the date of the holy Ashura. The meeting will be held at the Islamic Foundation at Baitul Mukarram. — BSS

Ship with clinker sinks in Bay

The BIWTA says a lighter ship carrying cement clinker has sunk in the Bay of Bengal after a collision with another vessel. The accident occurred near Noakhali's Tangarchar on Sunday.
