Ministry orders power lines to all secondary schools

The Ministry of Education has instructed the authorities concerned to supply electricity to all the secondary educational institutions across the country to facilitate ICT (information and communication technology) education. The Secondary and Higher Education Department of the ministry issued a letter in this regard to the Director General of the Secondary and Higher Education Directorate on Tuesday. — UNB

Strike halts export through Benapole port

BENAPOLE, Feb 13: Export through the Benapole land port had been remaining suspended since Wednesday morning as workers went on strike protesting harassment against them by the members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF). Hundreds of goods-laden trucks had remained stranded in the port area creating around one-kilometre gridlock till filing of this report around 2:30pm. — UNB
