BB releases new notes

Bangladesh Bank (BB) released on Monday new notes of Taka 10, 20, 50 and 100 denominations in the market ahead of Eid-ul-Azha. The new notes are being distributed from all branches of Bangladesh Bank across the country. The distribution of the new notes will continue until August 20 except the government holidays. — BSS

Two more Hajj flights cancelled

Two more Hajj flights of Biman Bangladesh Airlines scheduled to fly today (Tuesday) have been cancelled due to shortage of passengers. The cancelled flights are BG1091 and BG6091. With these, a total of 18 Hajj flights have been cancelled for the same reason so far. — UNB

One more 'drug dealer' dies in 'gunfight'

A man died in an alleged shootout with police in Cox's Bazar's Moheshkhali Upazila. Abul Malek, 40, who was named as a 'drug dealer' on the police list, died in a gunfight in the upazila's hill area in Shaplapur union on Monday. — bdnews24.com
