PM for boosting waterway connectivity with India
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina emphasised on Monday strengthening waterway connectivity to promote trade and commerce between Bangladesh and India. She put emphasis on increasing the connectivity when Indian High Commissioner in Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das paid a courtesy call on her at her official residence Ganobhaban in the city. A partial lunar eclipse will occur tomorrow (Wednesday). The eclipse will start at zero hours 42 minutes 12 seconds BdST and will end at 6 hours 19 minutes 24 seconds. Over 8,000 online news portals apply for reg
The government has received more than 8,000 applications for registration of online news portals, according to Information Minister Hasan Mahmud. Only those "who can truly work" will get the registration after scrutiny, the minister told reporters after a session of the conference of deputy commissioners (DCs) at the Secretariat on Monday. New media and its challenges, and discipline of online media, were among other topics of discussion in the conference.
