Another lane to ease Dhaka-Ctg tailbacks

FENI, May 20: Another lane of the Fatehpur railway overpass on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway was opened to traffic on Sunday, aiming to ease traffic congestion on the busiest highway of the country. The highway has been experiencing severe tailbacks for more than a week. The Dhaka-bound lane of the overpass was opened around 4:00 pm. — UNB

Saudi Arabia arrests female activists

RIYADH, May 20: Weeks before Saudi Arabia is due to lift a ban on female drivers, authorities in the kingdom have detained four of the women who campaigned for the right to get behind the wheel. Activists Loujain al-Hathloul, Iman al-Nafjan, Aziza al-Yousef and Aisha Almane were arrested last week, along with four male supporters, the government and Saudi media said Friday. — CNN
