TCB starts sale of Ramadan items on May 6

The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will begin commodity sale at reduced prices across the country from May 6 on the occasion of holy Ramadan. Under the programme the corporation will sell edible oil, sugar, red pulse, chick-pea and dates. The programme will be carried out through 2,784 dealers and 187 trucks across the country. The sale would also be conducted at 10 retail centres across the country three in Dhaka and seven in divisional cities. — BSS

Mild tremor jolts Sylhet

SYLHET, Apr 24: A moderate earthquake jolted different parts of Sylhet on Tuesday morning. Measuring 5.2 on the Richter Scale, the tremor was felt around 10:08 am, according to the Sylhet Met office. The epicentre of the quake was in Mawlaik, Myanmar, some 441km east of Dhaka. However, no damage or casualty was reported. — UNB
