DNCC by-polls: Govt reschedules two SSC exams

The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations under Dhaka Board for February 24 and 25 will be rescheduled to March due to by-election to Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC). Acting secretary of the Election Commission (EC) Helal Uddin Ahmed confirmed the matter, after attending a meeting with chairmen of Dhaka Education Board, Madrasah Education Board and Technical Education Board at the secretariat on Tuesday afternoon. The by-election to the mayoral post of DNCC will be held in the last week of February. — UNB

RMG factory in prison opens today

NARAYANGANJ, Dec 26: Country's first-ever garment factory set up in a jail to facilitate income-generating activities for prisoners will be opened here today (Wednesday). Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan will inaugurate the mini-garment factory at the district jail. The milestone initiative will facilitate the prisoners to earn money employing their labour while serving jail term and thus acquire skills.— UNB
