Today we're all Rohingyas: WB president

Shortly after visiting Rohingya in Cox's Bazar district, visiting World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kimon said on Monday they are all Rohingya today. "I am extremely humbled and moved by the courage of the Rohingya. We cannot turn our heads away. We stand in solidarity -- today we are all Rohingya," he said. The WB chief conveyed the message in a tweet. — UNB

2,471 die in road accidents in six months

Some 2,471 people, including 317 women and 326 children, were killed in 2,353 road accidents across the country during the first six months of 2018. Besides, at least 5,975 people were injured in the accidents, according to the National Committee to Protect Shipping, Roads & Railways (NCPSRR).— FE Report

Hajj money embezzlement under ACC scanners

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has initiated a drive to probe some government officials’ role in embezzling money from 115 Hajj pilgrims. On receipt of complaints from four pilgrims, the ACC conducted a drive in the city's Purana Paltan area on Monday. — UNB
