PM visits Sylhet today on likely campaign trail

SYLHET, Jan 29: Prime Minister and Awami League president Sheikh Hasina will visit Sylhet on Tuesday from where she is likely to start the campaign for next national polls and elections to five city corporations. She will visit the shrines of Hazrat Shahjalal (R) and Hazrat Shahporan (R) around 11:00 am. The premier is set to inaugurate 38 development projects, including five of the Sylhet City Corporation, around 2:40pm. Of those, she would open 20 projects and lay foundation stones of 18 others, said Rahat Anwar, deputy commissioner of Sylhet. — UNB

Indonesian President leaves Dhaka

Indonesian President Joko Widodo left the capital on Monday morning after wrapping up his two-day official visit. A special aircraft of an Indonesian airline, carrying Indonesian President along with first lady Iriana Joko Widodo and other 50 entourage members, left the airport around 9:20 am. Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali saw him off at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. — UNB
