Six killed as bus overturns in Gopalganj

GOPALGANJ, July 29 (UNB): Six people were killed and 15 others injured as a bus overturned at Vatiapara intersection in Kashiani upazila on the Dhaka-Khulna highway on Monday. The deceased were identified as Lokman Molla, 60, Gaffar Molla, 65, Kibria Molla, 50, Chan Mia, 30, Rabbi, 20 and Aslam Sheikh Kala, 35 of Jaladanga in Naragati upazila of Narail district. The bus overturned on the road as its driver lost control over the steering and hit a stationary truck in the area. — UNB

Indian FM Jaishanker due next month

Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar may visit Bangladesh on August 20-21. Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen described Jaishankar's forthcoming visit to Bangladesh as a "courtesy trip". While talking to a small group of reporters at his office on Monday, the foreign minister said the Indian minister has already accepted his invitation. — UNB
