Why not drug test before marriage, joining jobs: HC

The High Court (HC) issued on Monday a rule asking the authorities concerned why it shall not pass an order to make compulsory the blood test to determine presence of thalassemia and drugs before marriage and joining jobs. A High Court Division bench comprising Justice JBM Hassan and Justice Md Khairul Alam issued the rule, after hearing a plea submitted in this regard. — BSS

Fire at clothing stores at Mirpur

Stores belonging to three retailers were burnt in a fire in the city's Mirpur area. The fire broke out around 9:30am on Monday in the Mirpur-10 area opposite the National Swimming Complex. Five fire service units brought the blaze under control.— bdnews24.com
