PM commends swift trial

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman Sunday expressed appreciation to the Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and the Minister for Home Affairs for their roles in ensuring quick trial of the sensational Ramisa-murder case.

As the news broke, the Prime Minister made the remarks while in a meeting of the Parliamentary Business Advisory Committee held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.

He praised the efforts of the relevant ministries and law- enforcement agencies for their effective handling of the case.

He notes that "the rapid investigation, identification of suspects, and subsequent arrests demonstrate government's firm commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring justice".

Describing the incident as a brutal and heartbreaking crime, the Prime Minister said the prompt action taken by the authorities reflected professionalism, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility.

He hopes the judicial proceedings in the case would be completed swiftly and fairly, and that those found guilty would receive appropriate punishment in accordance with the law.

The Prime Minister also calls upon law-enforcement agencies, investigating officers, and all authorities concerned to continue demonstrating the same level of professionalism and commitment in safeguarding public security and combating crime.

Members present at the meeting likewise praised the prompt measures taken by the authorities and expressed confidence that the government's zero-tolerance policy against crime would continue in the future.
