RU ready for historic vote today

Rajshahi University is all set to hold the Rajshahi University Central Students' Union (RUCSU), Senate, and Hall Union elections today, after 35 years.

Voting will take place from 9 am to 4 pm across 17 polling centers housed in nine academic buildings.

The university has taken on a festive mood - banners, posters, and chants of student leaders have transformed the academic hub into a buzzing election ground.

In a pre-election press briefing held at the Senate Bhaban on Tuesday afternoon, Election Commissioner Professor Dr. Mostafa Kamal Akand said, "We have printed exactly 28,901 ballot papers - equal to the total number of registered voters. Not one more. Nowhere in the world are extra ballots printed. Every center will receive its precise allocation, not one paper more or less."
