Singapore, Sri Lanka, Saarc greet PM

Singapore and Sri Lanka  congratulated Tuesday Sheikh Hasina on her assumption of office as Bangladesh Prime Minister for the third time, reports UNB.

In a message to Sheikh Hasina, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong lauded the steady progress Bangladesh has made in achieving the MDGs, and its impressive economic performance despite numerous global challenges, according to a Foreign Ministry media release.

The Premier of Singapore underscored further strengthening of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

In another message, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her reelection to the august post for the third time.

President Rajapaksa evinced his keen interest for continued engagement to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.

Meanwhile, Saarc (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) Secretary General Ahmed Saleem also congratulated Sheikh Hasina on her reelection as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
