Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda said on Monday they want to see violence and bloodshed-free parliamentary polls slated for December 30.
"We want to see an election which will be free from violence and bloodshed," he told the media after a training session (orientation) for executive magistrates at Nirbachan Bhaban at Agargaon in the capital.
A total of 691 magistrates received training to supervise the 11th parliamentary election.
"Through this orientation (training), we could know about yours' (magistrates) position," he said.
The CEC also urged them to help hold a free, fair, transparent and participatory general election.
Impartial means that voters will go to the polling centres, cast their votes and return to their homes safely, he added.
"It is your (executive magistrates) duty to ensure safety and security around the polling centres," said Mr Huda.
"The election day is an important day. You must discharge your duties very cautiously," he told the magistrates.
He urged them to remain calm and quiet even at awkward situations during the election and handle the problems with their courage, good judgement and skills.
Mr Huda called on them to know the election code of conduct thoroughly in order to ensure a congenial environment on the polling day.
"All political parties will take part in the upcoming election. And we have taken all-out preparations to conduct this (polls)."
He called upon the magistrates to remain neutral and discharge their duties with their zeal and vigour.
