Youth stabbed dead for resisting rape bid

CHUADANGA, Aug 24: A criminal was beaten to death by angry mob after he reportedly stabbed dead a youth who resisted a rape attempt on his niece by the criminal at Amirpur village in Sadar upazila on Saturday. The youth who was stabbed to death was identified as Hasan Ali, 26, son of Hamidul Islam of the area. The criminal killed in lynch-mob attack was identified as Akbar Ali of Damurhuda upazila who entered the house of Hamidul Islam at dawn and attempted to rape her school-going granddaughter. — UNB
