The Ministry of Religious Affairs has warned of administrative action against 124 agencies yet to take any move for registration of pilgrims for Hajj operations next year.
The ministry in a recent letter to the agencies said that administrative action would be taken against those that would fail to comply with registration conditions.
The letter highlighted that the ministry had published a list of 891 agencies for the 2025 Hajj season with specific conditions.
"If any agency on the list does not register pilgrims for the Hajj season of 2025 without any valid reason, administrative action will be taken against it," said the letter of the ministry.
Primary Hajj registration for 2025 started on September 1, 2024 and as of Saturday (October 26, 2024) a total of 8,334 individuals completed the primary registration process through government and private channels.
The ministry confirmed that primary Hajj registration would remain open until November 30.
The Hajj packages are expected to be announced on October 30, 2024. Bangladesh is allowed to send a total of 127,198 pilgrims for performing Hajj in 2025.
