184 more hospitalised with dengue in 24 hrs

At total of 184 dengue- positive or suspected patients have been hospitalised across the country in the last 24 hours until Friday morning.

With this, the total number of hospitalised dengue patients reached 9,304 this year, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in its regular bulletin.

Of those newly detected, 169 were hospitalised in the capital city while the remaining 15 were admitted to different healthcare facilities outside Dhaka.

Dhaka division, excluding the capital city, reported a single case in Narsingdi, Chattogram division logged six cases, Khulna division four and Rajshahi, Rangpur and Barishal divisions reported one case each in the said 24 hours.

Forty fatalities have been registered so far this year-28 in August and 12 in July, the DGHS data revealed.

A total of 1,032 dengue patients are still admitted at different public and private hospitals in the country, including 905 in Dhaka city.

So far, as many as 8,230 patients have been discharged from the hospitals this year after they received treatment.

The country reported 6,646 cases of the water-borne diseasein August so far, 2286 in July, 272 in June, 43 in May and three in April.
