536 dengue patients hospitalised in 24 hrs

A total of 536 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours till 8am on Wednesday, reports UNB.

Of them, 175 were hospitalised in Dhaka and 361 in other parts of the country, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

About 2,360 dengue patients are currently being treated at hospitals across the country, it said.

Since the beginning of this year, 82,990 people were hospitalised with dengue - most of them in Dhaka. Of them, 80,427 made full recovery.

Since January, the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) received information about 203 dengue-related deaths.
