The majority of the participants (70 per cent) in a survey said they would cast their ballots for the BNP in the upcoming 13th parliamentary election, while 19 per cent would vote for the Jamaat-e-Islami.
Besides, 2.6 per cent would vote for the National Citizen Party (NCP) and 1.4 per cent for the Jatiya Party.
Conducted by non-government organisation Eminence Associates for Social Development (EASD), the survey results were presented at an event held at the KIB Auditorium in the capital's Farmgate on Monday.
The programme was chaired by Adviser to EASD Dr Kazi Saifuddin Bennoor.
A panel discussion featured democracy and institutional expert Mir Nadia Nivin, Professor of development studies at the University of Dhaka Dr Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, Coordinator of Voice for Reform Fahim Mashroor, and Editor-in-Chief of Dhaka Stream Iftekhar Mahmud.
EASD Chief Executive Officer Shamim Hayder Talukder presented the survey findings.
He said opinions were collected through face-to-face interviews with 20,495 respondents from all 300 parliamentary constituencies across the country from December 20 last year to January 1, 2026.
In addition to the major political parties, 5.0 per cent of the participants said they would vote for the other ones.
Meanwhile, 0.2 per cent said they would not vote.
About 77 per cent of the respondents believe the BNP will win and form the government, while 17 per cent think the Jamaat-e-Islami will come to power.
More than 1.0 per cent believe the NCP will form the government.
The regional breakdown further highlights the BNP's strong standing, with the party securing the highest level of support of 74 per cent in both the Chattogram and Rajshahi divisions.
The survey noted Jamaat's relatively strong presence in Barishal and Khulna regions, where it enjoys 29 per cent and 25 per cent support, respectively.
Meanwhile, in the Rangpur division, the Jatiya Party fared comparatively better, with 5.2 per cent of voters indicating their preference for the party.
