Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained 84 people after Indian Border Security Force (BSF) pushed them in at border regions in Panchagarh, Cumilla, and Lalmonirhat, reports BSS.

In Panchagarh, BSF pushed 21 people into Bangladesh from the Joydharbhanga Borobari border in Sadar upazila of the district.

A petrol team of the BGB detained them from 2.5 kilometers inside Bangladesh from the border pillar of Barobari under Haribasha, according to Lieutenant Colonel Sheikh Mohammad Badrudoza, commanding officer of Nilphamari-56 BGB Battalion.

Of the 21 individuals, six are women, two are men, and 13 are children. BGB is preparing to file a case under the Passport Act with Panchagarh Sadar Police Station, the BGB official said early Thursday.

Meanwhile in Cumilla, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), detained 52 individuals for illegally entering the country from India early Thursday.

BGB sources confirmed that 13 people were apprehended while crossing the Golabari border in Cumilla Sadar upazila, while the remaining 39 were detained at the Noapur border in Fulgazi upazila of Feni district.

Among the detainees, 19 are men, 15 women and 18 children.

In Lalmonirhat, BSF reportedly pushed 11 individuals inside Bangladesh through Dhabalsuti Gatiarvita border under Patgram upazila of the district on Wednesday night, security and law enforcement officials said.

Nayek Subedar Abdul Matin, commander of BGB 61 Battalion's Dhanlasuti BOP (Border Outpost) camp, said that Indian nationals were pushed in and they handed them over to the police.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Patgram Police Station Mizanur Rahman said: "BGB has handed over 11 people to us at the police station. Among them, seven are women and four are children."

BGB and police are working to find out the overall information about those 11 people. Legal action is under process, he added.
