Meanwhile, many passengers, who went to Kamalapur Railway Station in the capital on the day, could not manage tickets, as the tickets for July 5 were sold out within three hours of starting the sale at 8:00 am.

Visiting the station on Friday morning, the FE correspondent found a number of people standing in long queues for purchasing tickets.

Many of them said they had spent overnight in front of the counters for tickets. Despite waiting for long hours or even the whole night at the station many returned empty handed.

"I came to the station on Thursday evening and waited until the opening of ticket sale on Friday morning. Unfortunately, I could not purchase ticket, as some 200 people were standing before me," said Md Riyad, who came from Gendaria area for purchasing tickets of a Rangpur-bound train.

"When I reached near the ticket counter, the booking clerk told me that the tickets were sold out," he added.

"I managed a ticket after waiting for many hours," Md Abu Bakar Siddique, a private sector service holder, told the FE.

He said he would go to Dinajpur on the occasion of the Eid festival, and managed ticket after staying overnight at Kamalapur Railway Station.
