Adviser orders withdrawal of Chakaria OC within 24 hrs

COX'S BAZAR, Mar 1 (BSS): Home Adviser Lieutenant General Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) has ordered the withdrawal of Chakaria Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) in Cox's Bazar within 24 hours.

He gave the order after a view-exchange meeting with officials of the Home and Agriculture Ministries at the Cox's Bazar Deputy Commissioner's conference room on Saturday.

Following an allegation against the OC made by a local journalist, he gave the order to the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Chattogram Range over phone.

The journalist informed the Home Adviser about torture of an individual in custody of the Chakaria Thana Police.
