Army hosts iftar for students injured in July uprising

Bangladesh Army hosted an iftar and dinner in honour of the students injured in the 2024 July-August uprising at Senamalancha in Dhaka Cantonment on Sunday.
Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman was present as the chief guest at the event, said an ISPR press release.
During the iftar and dinner, the army chief exchanged greetings with the students and inquired about their health and well-being.
Along with the injured students, the event was also attended by senior military officials, prominent civil society members, and directors of various government hospitals.
The army also presented Eid gifts to the injured students as a gesture of goodwill and support.
Since the uprising, 4,215 individuals have received medical treatment at various combined military hospitals (CMH) across the country. 989 successful surgeries have been conducted for the victims.
Currently, 39 individuals are receiving treatment at CMH Dhaka.
