Chairman of the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) Md. Azizul Islam has been conducting regular field visits to enhance transparency, dynamism and accountability in the organisation's operations.

The initiative also aims to ensure that BADC services reach farmers in a timely manner, says a press release.

As part of the effort, Azizul Islam visited the Kashimpur Horticulture Development Centre on March 30, where he inspected seed production fields of hybrid tomato, hybrid sweet pumpkin and bitter gourd.

He also reviewed the existing germplasm centre and ongoing research activities on various horticultural crop varieties under trial.

During the visit, the BADC chairman directed officials to take all necessary measures to achieve the centre's annual targets. He also emphasised the importance of delivering newly developed horticultural crop varieties to farmers at their doorstep without delay.

On March 31, he visited the Madhupur Seed Production Farm in Tangail and closely inspected the fields of various crops produced there.

Later, he attended a training programme organized by the Madhupur Training Institute.
