Ban imposed on gatherings near Secretariat, Jamuna

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Thursday imposed a ban on meetings, gatherings, processions and rallies near the Bangladesh Secretariat, the official residence of the chief adviser, Jamuna, and its surrounding areas until further notice to maintain public order.

The announcement was made in a public notice signed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md Sazzat Ali.

The notice issued under the powers of Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No. III/76) prohibits any such activities in and around the Bangladesh Secretariat, the chief adviser's residence, and nearby areas, including the Hotel InterContinental intersection, Shahbagh intersection, Kakrail intersection and Mintu Road.
