Bangladesh exit SAFF Suzuki Cup Nepal in semifinal

Bangladesh have been eliminated from the SAFF Suzuki Cup in the final encounter of Group A, reports bdnews24.com.

Nepal crashed the hosts by 2-0 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka on Saturday. With the victory, the Himalayan nation qualified for the semifinal.

The maiden goal of the match from Midfielder Bimal Gharti Magar in the 33rd minute of the match took Nepal on the recovery road in the tournament.

Moreover, the final slam from Nepal came in the dying embers of match at 90 minutes with a goal from substitute Nawayug Shrestha.

With this defeat, Bangladesh's dream of becoming the top four for the first time since 2009 was shattered. In 2003, Bangladesh won the SAFF Championship on the home ground.
