BB board approves new design of currency notes

Bangladesh Bank board has taken some decisions, including approving new design and features for the local currency notes.

The central bank held its 438th meeting of board of directors on Sunday at the BB headquarters led by the

governor Dr Ahsan H Mansur.

Spokesperson of the central bank Husne Ara Shikha said the board members were updated about the present economic indicators of the country and also informed about the recent

reconstruction of boards of 11 commercial banks.

The board also approved the issuance of new designs and features on the currency notes, as well as the contractual appointment of a chief economist at the BB.
