BD-India border talks now Sep 16-18

The crucial border talks between Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Border Security Force (BSF) of India has been rescheduled and it would start in Dhaka on Wednesday.

The meeting, which was postponed earlier, will now be held from September 16-18, officials concerned told the FE on Monday night.

Earlier, the meeting was scheduled to be held in Dhaka from September 13 to 18 but BGB officials on Sunday said that they were informed by the BSF that due to the technical glitch in the aircraft, which was supposed to carry the BSF delegation to Dhaka, the BSF team would not be able to attend the meeting.

In the wake of rise in the border killing the border talks is thought to be a crucial one as diplomatic circle of both the countries are expecting that important measures would be taken in the meeting.

Border killing and fencing, counter terrorism are learnt to be the the key agenda of the scheduled meeting.
