BD passes another deathless day as Covid infects 81 more

Bangladesh saw another deathless day with recording some 81 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours till Friday morning.

Dhaka district, including the metropolitan city, alone accounted for 43 of the cases, according to a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) bulletin.

A total of 7,413 samples were tested in 879 labs across the country in the 24-hour period yielding a daily positivity rate of 1.09 per cent.

A total of 893 people recovered during the same period, taking the total recoveries to 1,882,197.

The total number of infections stands at 1,951,658 while the total death toll due to the respiratory disease caused by the virus stands at 29,122. The fatality rate stands at 1.49 per cent.

On the other hand, an estimated 13.83 million samples were tested across the country since the detection of the deadly virus on 08 March 2020.
