Biswa Ijtema to be held after national elections
Says religious affairs adviser

Religious Affairs Adviser AFM Khalid Hossain said on Sunday that the next year's Biswa Ijtema would take place after the 13th parliamentary elections.
He made the announcement after a meeting with Tabligh Jamaat's two factions at his Bangladesh Secretariat office.
The adviser said that the specific dates of Biswa Ijtema, the second largest congregation of Muslims after Hajj, would be fixed after discussing with both groups of Tabligh Jamaat.
Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (Retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Industry, and Housing and Public Works Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan, and Senior Secretary to the Ministry of Home Affairs Nasimul Gani were present at the meeting.
