Blast in M'singh bldg leaves KUET student dead, three burnt

MYMENSINGH, Mar 25 (UNB): A student of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) was killed and three others sustained burn injuries in a blast at a building at Masterbari in Bhaluka early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Touhid, a final year student of KUET and an intern of Mymensingh Textile Mill, hailing from Bogra.
Mamun, officer-in-charge of Bhaluka Model Police Station, said an explosion inside the six-storey building rocked the Masterbari area around 12:30am.
On information, police rushed in and found a room of the second floor of the building badly damaged.
A body was recovered from the room and three injured --- Shahin, hailing from Sirajganj, Hafiz from Naogaon and Dipto Sarker of Magura -- were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Of them, Hafiz and Dipto were initially sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital from where they were referred to DMCH.
The conditions of Hafiz and Dipto are critical and they were sent to Dhaka for better treatment, said on-duty doctor Sunando Sen.
