BR to launch new trains on Dhaka-Narsingdi-Bhairab Bazar route

Bangladesh Railway (BR) will launch new commuter trains on Dhaka-Narsingdi-Bhairab Bazar-Dhaka route and replace the rake of coaches on Dhaka-Narayanganj route on March 26, marking the Independence Day.

Road Transport and Bridges and Railways Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan will inaugurate the new trains at Kamalapur Railway Station, welcoming commuters from Bhairab Bazar.

On the same day, Narayanganj commuter train will be replaced with the rake of 11 renovated coaches completing all eight-pair commuter trains.

The BR earlier inaugurated four-set commuter trains on Dhaka-Joydevpur-Dhaka route on December 15, marking the Victory Day. The new commuter trains on Dhaka-Narsingdi and Dhaka-Narayanganj have been planned to introduce as per an announcement by the adviser.

The trains are expected to benefit a good number of Dhaka-bound commuters who are living in and around Joydevpur, Narayanganj, Narsigndi and Bhairabbazar.

As per the schedule, the Narsingdi Commuter-1 train will leave Bhairab Bazar at 7:45 am and reach Dhaka at 9:05 am, having stoppages at Daulatkandi, Methikanda, Narsingdi, Arikhola, Tongi, Dhaka Airport, Dhaka Cantonment and Tejgaon stations.

The Narsingdi Commuter-4 train will depart from Kamalapur Railway Station at 6:30 pm and reach Bhairab Bazar at 9:10 pm, which will have stoppages at Tejgaon, Dhaka Airport, Tongi, Pubail, Arikhola, Narsingdi and Methikanda.

Tickets for both commuter trains will be available from the counters of respective stations.
