CIID arrests Malaysian national with 10 gold bars at HSIA

Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) officials arrested a Malaysian national along with 10 gold bars worth Tk 27.4 million from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the city early Sunday, reports UNB.

The arrestee was identified as Looi Koon Hong, 33.

Director General of CIID Dr Mohammad Shahidul Islam said a flight of Malindo Air landed at the airport around 1:00 am.

A team of CIID took position at the green channel of the airport and challenged Koon Hong. They recovered four gold bars, weighing 1.0 kg each and 6.0 gold bars, weighing 1.48 kg from the shoes of Hong.
