Couple arrested from Faridpur

Police on Tuesday arrested a couple in connection with the gruesome murder of Habibullah Bahar College vice-principal (acting) Saifur Rahman Bhuiyan in Uttarkhan area of the capital.

Acting on a tip-off, the law enforcers hunted down the couple during a raid in Faridpur. The arrested couple have been identified as Nazim and Rupa.

Md Ziaur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Uttarkhan Police Station, confirmed the information.

The brutal killing took place on a flat in Puranpara under Uttarkhan police station early on Monday.

Police said Saifur was found bleeding on the flat on the fourth floor of a house.

Miscreants stabbed Saifur with local weapons, locked him in the bathroom and fled the scene.
