Court orders ACC to attach Putul's flat at Gulshan

Asks to appoint a receiver

FE REPORT | April 30, 2025 00:00:00

A Dhaka court on Tuesday ordered the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to attach a flat owned by Saima Wazed Putul, daughter of ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina.

It also ordered the anti-graft body to appoint a receiver to take care of the immovable property located in the city's Gulshan area.

Judge of the Metropolitan Senior Special Judge's Court in Dhaka, Md Jakir Hossain, passed the order allowing a petition filed by the ACC.

Earlier on the day, Md Monirul Islam, a deputy director of the ACC and also the team leader of the enquiry team, submitted the petition with the court seeking necessary directives.

The official said that they came to know that efforts have been taken to transfer the ownership of the property, thus, an order is needed to attach it to prevent the transferring process.

Earlier, a court passed an order to issue an Interpol arrest warrant against Putul in a plot scam case.
