Daily Covid deaths drop to 4 in BD

Cases also fall to 232

The single-day death toll from Covid-19 declined to a fresh low at four in Bangladesh on Friday after a few months, according to official figures.

However, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported 232 new virus cases during the last 24 hours until 8:0am on the day, also down from the previous day's 243.

With the last daily count, the total fatalities from corovirus reached 27,805 since March 2020.

A total of 17,100 samples were tested, including antigen-based rapid tests, while 17,105 samples were collected across the country during the last 24 hours.

The Covid-19 test positivity rate was reported at inched down to 1.36 per cent on Friday from the previous day's 1.51 per cent.

A total of 534 more people recovered from the coronavirus disease in the country during the last 24-hour reporting time, the DGDH data revealed.

The rate of recovery from the coronavirus disease was reported at 97.65 per cent on the day.

On the other hand, the rate of fatalities from Covid-19 also remained static at 1.77 per cent.

According to the official data, the total Covid-19 cases crossed 1.56 million in Bangladesh and more than 1.53 million of them recovered from the deadly disease.

On the other hand, nearly 10.17 million samples were tested across the country since the virus was detected in the country.
