MUNSHIGANJ, May 22 (UNB): Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said on Tuesday CNG filling stations across the country will remain open for 24 hours four days before and after the Eid-ul-Fitr.

Quader, also the general secretary of ruling Awami League, said the roads and highways authorities have been asked to take effective measures to complete renovation works on all roads and highways within June 8 to make the home-goers' Eid journey smoother.

"Although the upcoming Eid journey won't be free from sufferings, it'll be tolerable," he said at a views-exchange meeting with the stakeholders of toll plaza management at Jamaldi near Meghna Bridge in Gazaria upazila.

"Workers will carry on the renovation works even at night, if needed," he said.

Talking about the irregularities on axle load station in Chattogram, Obaidul said, "Stern actions will be taken against those who will be found involved in graft."

The minister also urged the VIPs not to run their vehicles on wrong side of the road.
