Ekushey Book Fair to begin December 17

The Bangla Academy has finalised the schedule for the Amar Ekushey Book Fair, beginning on Dec 17, 2025 and it will run until Jan 17, 2026, reports bdnews24.com.

The announcement came through an academy media statement on Thursday evening.

Earlier at 5pm, a meeting was held at the Shaheed Munir Chowdhury Auditorium of the academy to decide the dates for the 2026 fair.

The meeting was presided over by Md Mofidul Rahman, secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, with Bangla Academy Director General Mohammad Azam, the academy's secretary, directors, and representatives of the Bangladesh Book Publishers and Sellers Association in attendance.

According to the statement, the dates were finalised in consideration of the general election and the holy month of Ramadan.
