CHATTOGRAM, Sept 20: At last, the news on result tampering that was published on December 29 in 2023 in The Financial Express has proved true after investigation.
Professor Narayan Chandra Nath, former secretary of the Chattogram Education Board and incumbent Director of Secondary and Higher Education in Chattogram, is set to face legal consequences as a ministry-level investigation found him guilty of manipulating his son's HSC exam results.
The Ministry of Education has ordered criminal proceedings against him and those involved in the fraudulent activity after investigation.
The directive was issued in a letter signed by Shatrupa Talukder, Senior Assistant Secretary of the Ministry's Disciplinary Affairs Branch, on September 15.
The letter, addressed to the Director General of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, outlined the need for disciplinary action against Narayan Chandra Nath under the Government Servants (Disciplinary and Appeal) Rules, 2018. The letter was sent earlier. But, the matter drew the public attention recently.
According to the Education Ministry's findings, Professor Narayan Chandra Nath was instrumental in making sure his son received GPA-5 in the 2023 HSC examination through fraudulent means.
