Fire guts houses at Tejturi Bazar slum

A fire broke out at a slum, located behind the railway market in the city's East Tejturi Bazar area, on Monday noon. It gutted several makeshift houses at the slum.

However, there was no report of casualties. The fire originated at around 12:00 pm.

Nine units of fire-fighters rushed to the spot and controlled the flame at around 1:20 pm. The cause of the fire was still unknown till filling of the report at 7:30 pm.

"We will determine the cause of the fire after completing our investigation," a duty officer of fire service control room said. He also said the financial loss caused by the fire was estimated at around Tk 50,000.
