Five more die with measles symptoms, three die of dengue

Five more people died with measles-like symptoms and three more died from dengue across the country in the past 24 hours until 8am on Monday. With the five new fatalities, the total tally of confirmed and suspected measles-related deaths rose to 793.
Of the total fatalities, 95 were confirmed cases, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) bulletin.
Meanwhile, as many as 922 suspected and 147 confirmed measles infections were recorded in the past 24 hours.
The total suspected measles infections rose to 118,570 and confirmed infections to 14,578.
In response to a measles outbreak rapidly spreading across the country, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has already vaccinated over 18.48 million children since April.
Measles is a highly contagious viral disease, which affects individuals of all ages.
Meanwhile, three more people died of dengue in the past 24 hours while 372 others were hospitalised.
