The government has reconstituted the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) by appointing Justice Golam Martuza, an Additional Judge of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court, as its chairman.
Law Adviser Asif Nazrul disclosed the update in a briefing at the secretariat on Monday. He further stated that the trial proceedings will begin very soon, and the government is prepared to reconstitute ICT-2 if necessary.
The advisor mentioned, "On the advice of the Supreme Court, we have reconstituted the International Crimes Tribunal with two High Court judges and a retired District and Sessions judge."
High Court Division Justice Golam Martuza will serve as the chairman of the tribunal, along with two other members, Justice Shafiul Alam Mahmud and retired District and Sessions judge Mohitul Haque Enam Chowdhury.
