Gunfight with ‘Yaba peddlers’ hurts three cops

Three policemen have been injured in a gunfight with suspected Yaba peddlers in city's Gandaria, reports bdnews24.com.
Police also arrested a suspect with gunshot wounds and recovered 2,000 Yaba pills from the scene, Sadhana Oushadhalay lane, on Thursday afternoon.
The injured police personnel are Gandaria Police Station assistant sub-inspectors Mosharraf Hossain and Mohsin Ali, and Constable Bashir Uddin.
Inspector Mahbubul Alam said the three injured policemen were being treated at a hospital in the area.
He said the trio went to the area on two motorcycles around 4:30pm after getting information that a large cache of Yaba was delivered.
"They retaliated when one of the drug peddlers opened fire," he said.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Shamsuzzaman told the news agency the three policemen suffered bullet injuries in their hands and legs.
He said the injured suspect was 'Jewel', 19. A woman, 'Sonia', 27, was also arrested. Shamsuzzaman said the suspect who opened fire fled the scene.
