India beat Australia to reach final

DUBAI, Mar 4 (AFP): Virat Kohli hit 84 as India beat Australia by four wickets in the first semi-final of the Champions Trophy in Dubai on Tuesday.

Chasing 265 for victory, India lost Kohli in the closing overs but KL Rahul with an unbeaten 42 steered the team home with 11 balls to spare.

They will now face New Zealand or South Africa in the final on Sunday at the same venue.

Earlier, skipper Steve Smith and Alex Carey hit half-centuries as Australia made 264 all out against India in the first semi-final of the Champions Trophy.

After choosing to bat, Smith hit 73 and the left-handed Carey smashed 61 to put on the highest total at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the ongoing 50-over tournament.
