JP to contest 29 seats under Grand Alliance, 132 seats ‘separately’

The Jatiya Party of HM Ershad has been allocated 29 seats as part of the Grand Alliance, but it is also planning to run candidates for 132 seats separate from the coalition, reports bdnews24.com.

"The Jatiya Party has received 29 seats from the Awami League," Jatiya Party Secretary General Mashiur Rahman Ranga told the media on Sunday. "In addition we will field candidates for 132 seats outside the coalition. So the Jatiya Party will compete in 161 seats."

Among the Grand Alliance seats is that of Chairman HM Ershad for Rangpur-3 and Dhaka-17, the Mymensingh-4 seat for the party's Senior Co-Chairman Raushon Ershad, the Lalmonirhat-3 seat of Co-Chairman GM Quader and the Rangpur-1 seat of General Secretary Mashiur Rahman Ranga.

AKM Mostafizur Rahman will run from Kurigram-1, Ponir Uddin Ahmed from Kurigram-2, Shameem Haidar Patwari from Gaibandha-1, Shariful Islam Jinnah from Bogura-2, Nurul Islam Talukder from Bogura-3, Nurul Islam Omar from Bogura-6, Md Altaf Ali from Bogura-7, Nasreen Jahan Ratna from Barishal-6, Fakhrul Imam from Mymensingh-8, Md Mujibul Haque from Kishoreganj-3, Sayed Abu Hossain from Dhaka-4, Kazi Firoz Rashid from Dhaka-6, Liyakot Hossain Khoka from Narayanganj-3, Salim Osman from Narayanganj-5, Pir Fazlur Rahman from Sunamganj-4, Md Yahia Chowdhury from Sylhet-2, Ziaul Haque Mridha from Brahmanbaria-2, Mohammad Noman from Lakshmipur-2, Anisul Islam Mahmud from Chattogram-5, Rana Mohammad Sohel from Nilphamari-3, Golam Kibria Tipu from Barishal-3, Rustum Ali Faraji from Pirojpur-3, Shafiullah Al Monir from Tangail-5 and Masud Uddin Chowdhury from Feni-3.
