Khaleda Zia named for 'Best Indomitable Woman in Advancing Democracy' award

The Ministry of Women and Children Affairs will confer the 'Best Indomitable Woman in Advancing Democracy (Gonotantra er Ogrojatray Sreshtho Odommo Nari)' award on Begum Khaleda Zia.

It will be given to her under the Indomitable Women Award programme marking International Women's Day 2026.

The award will be handed over at a function to be held at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital today (Sunday) as part of the International Women's Day  celebrations, reports BSS.

Khaleda Zia is being honoured in recognition of her indomitable leadership in the restoration of democracy through uncompromising struggle and her outstanding contributions to upholding the democratic process in the country.

As in previous years, five women will also be honoured as 'Best Indomitable Women' (Sreshtho Odommo Nari) in five different categories this year.
